Legendary London-Irish gang The Pogues have announced a US tour.
The band, who reformed in 2001, are a renowned live act, capable of drawing on a incredible back catalogue. Perhaps best known for their Christmas classic “Fairytale Of New York”, The Pogue’s released some of the most incendiary music of the 80s, blending punk fury with the melody of Irish traditional music. Of course, having Shane MacGowan as their frontman probably helped.
The group retain a huge following around the world, no doubt helped by a repeated lyrical focus on the Irish diaspora. The US dates include gigs in Chicago, Boston and New York, whilst the group will also play a two night stint at legendary punk venue The 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.
The Pogues will play the following US dates:
March 5th – 6th: The Riviera Theater, Chicago

March 12th – The Ram’s Head, Baltimore
March 13th – The Electric Factory, Philadelphia
