Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant has denied rumors that the band are set to tour next year, after releasing a statement which said that he will not be touring or recording with the band.
Robert Plant has put paid to those pesky Led Zeppelin re-union rumors by announcing that he will not be involved with the band. In a statement the singer has revealed that he plans to take a two year break once his current tour with country chanteusse Alison Krauss is finished.
The pair crafted a Mercury-nominated album together, and it seems that this effort has taken its toll on the golden haired singer. It was widely reported in some areas of the press that the band were to play a world tour in the summer of 2009, but Plant’s statement has scotched these rumors.
It reads in part: “It’s both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward. I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects.”
