Electronic act piri & tommy have today shared their brand new EP, ‘about dancing’.
The follow up to their acclaimed 2022 ‘froge.mp3‘ mixtape, the dance-pop duo shared primers including DnB heater ‘99%‘ and the wistful ‘dog’. The six-track ‘about dancing’ sees piri & Tommy level up and move beyond the viral soundbites of their earlier releases into the realm of full-flavoured club classics.
Of the EP experience, they say: “’about dancing’ is a little collection of our best work to date. as we listen to and make more and more music, the more we have to give to each track to make it special. the attention to detail and the journey through each song was so important to us making this project, we wanted to elevate our music and give each song a destination. there are more layers, new soundscapes and deeper meanings, but importantly each track is still packed with FUN!! “we love music, we love this music and we hope you do too.”
piri & tommy first met on Tinder, sharing a love of dance music but approaching it through different vantage points: Science graduate piri was working with the rest of her family in the local Asda when she matched with tommy, a music student and sometime-DJ in Manchester. Their debut mixtape ‘froge.mp3’ was a post-pandemic hit – a Gen Z-fuelled phenomenon ripe with clipped, topline wordplay over slick GarageBand beatmaking.
