Pink Floyd Guitar At Auction

Set To Fetch A Fortune

A new charity auction launched last night with a very special guitar signed by all the members of Pink Floyd and illustrated by ‘The Wall’ cartoonist Graham Scarfe.

The auction is to celebrate the launch of Graham Scarfe’s ‘Scarfe Of The Wall’ – a book detailing the artwork created for Pink Floyd’s classic album ‘The Wall’. The fender guitar is thought to be the last signed by the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright before his death last month. The current bid is £4000.

A well known cartoonist in the British press, Scarfe designed the gatefold sleeve for ‘The Wall’ – which remains one of the biggest selling albums of all time. As well as his association with Pink Floyd, Scarfe is regarded as an important artist in his own right, working with ‘Private Eye’ during the satire boom of the early 60s.

The sole member of Pink Floyd to attend last night’s ceremony was drummer Nick Mason – the rest of the band were unavailable.
