Pillow Queens will release new album ‘Name Your Sorrow’ on April 19th.
The Irish band caused a ruckus with their first two studio albums, potent statements of jagged guitar-led musicality. 2020’s ‘In Waiting’ received overwhelming acclaim, while 2022 follow-up ‘Leave The Light On’ took them a step further.
Secluding themselves away to rural Ireland for writing retreats, Pillow Queens allowed their third album to come into place naturally. Out on April 19th via Royal Mountain Records, ‘Name Your Sorrow’ contains 12 tracks, produced by Collin Pastore (Lucy Dacus, boygenius) at Analogue Catalogue in Northern Ireland.
The band comment…
“It is about stages of love, loss and grief and how they can all exist alongside one another–intertwined, messy, beautiful–how both love and loss can coexist.”
Ahead of the release, new single ‘Gone’ has been placed online – a potent return, it builds on the punch of their opening statements while adding the heft and creative swagger of their live shows.
The group add:
“‘Gone'” is a song that looks into the vapid nature of brief romantic encounters and the hyperbole that can become so monotonous, it makes you jaded.”
Tune in now.
