Phoenix Combine With Clairo On New Version Of ‘After Midnight’

A beautiful duet...

Phoenix have shared a fresh Clairo-enhanced take on ‘After Midnight’.

The song appears on their recently released album ‘Alpha Zulu’, which was recorded at their Parisian base. Reviewing the record, Clash wrote:

Closing in on their 20th year together, the French group have rarely sounded so calm and at-ease, while also challenging themselves at every turn. A fun record, but also one with real depth, ‘Alpha Zulu’ becomes an apt testament to the group’s continuing vitality.

‘After Midnight’ was an immediate highlight of the record, and its a song Phoenix have decided to return to. Given a breezy, refreshing treatment, this new rendering is augmented by a special vocal from American songwriter (and long-time Phoenix stan) Clairo.

Out now, the band comment:

“We’ve loved Claire since day 1! What a treat it is to have her sing with us! We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do”

For her part, Clairo adds: “I’ve been a massive fan of Phoenix for as long as I can remember, and I’m very grateful that they asked me to sing on this remix.”

Tune in now.
