Jailed producer Phil Spector is set to release a new album, starring the vocals of his fourth wife Rachelle.
After two lengthy trials Phil Spector was finally found guilty of murdering a young actress last year. Sentenced to a lengthy prison sentence, the producer almost immediately began appeal proceedings.
Currently attempting to extricate himself from prison, Phil Spector is set to release a new album. ‘Out Of My Chelle’ was recorded while on parole, awaiting legal proceedings to begin against him.
The album stars the vocals of his fourth wife Rachelle, who has acted as Spector’s mouth piece now the producer languishes in jail.
Phil Spector’s first full album in some thirty years, it is not yet known if the producer is involved in the songwriting process. Sessions for the album took place over two years, beginning with the producer’s first mis-trial in 2007.
Set to be release digitally on June 8th, the album is a showcase for his wife.
“She’s fantastic on this album,” Spector said. The producer has allegedly been trying to gain access to musical instruments in his jail cell, but these have been banned by authorities due to possible damage to himself or others.
The producer is best known as the originator of the ‘Wall Of Sound’ technique, producing hit records by The Righteous Brothers and The Ronettes. Later working with John Lennon and Leonard Cohen, Phil Spector even joined forces with Starsailor for two tracks before the murder took place.
‘Out Of My Chelle’ is set to be released on June 8th.
