Disgraced producer Phil Spector has seemingly become embroiled in a jail yard fight.
After two lengthy trials, Phil Spector was finally found guilty last year of murdering Lana Clarkson. Sentenced to a lengthy spell in prison, psychologists immediately began to fear for the producer.
Struggling to adapt to life in jail, recent reports suggest that Phil Spector has begun appeal proceedings. However until then the producer is still adapting to life behind bars, and according to recent reports have been involved in a jail yard fight.
British tabloid The Mirror reports that Phil Spector is nursing injuries inflicted by a fellow inmate. Friend Steven Escobar told a US newspaper: “Phil mouthed off to a big guy, who punched him.”
Spector apparently suffered a bruised nose, a black eye and had some teeth knocked out. The reaction from the producer’s camp has been mixed, with the Spector’s wife Rachelle at first admitting concerns over his safety.
“There are still safety concerns. We don’t want the people who put him in this position to retaliate” a statement claimed.
However since then New York Daily News have claimed that the report is a result of media fuelled speculation. “Phil was not assaulted.”
Jail spokesman Stephen Smith, said: “We have had no reports he was involved in an altercation.”
Phil Spector’s attempts to appeal are ongoing.
