Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson seems to have accidentally triggered a row with the anti-vaxx movement.
The indie giants played Isle of Wight festival at the weekend, and the frontman playfully introduced some pandemic banter into the set.
Toying with the crowd, the Kaiser Chiefs' singer asked those with a vaccine to put their hands in the air.
Ricky Wilson then asked those without a vaccine to put their hands in the air, and seemed to encourage some jeering.
A clip made its way online, and seemed to trigger the anti-vaxx movement:
@KaiserChiefs I was a fan of yours until this very moment. #cult pic.twitter.com/fMabItP04X

Ricky himself was surprised by the ferocity of the backlash:
I thought that the virus was frightening, but the dedicated velocity of the ‘Vaccine Risk Aware’ community is swift, personal, harsh, expletive ridden and effective.
They win fair and square. Twitter is yours.— Ricky Wilson (@Rickontour) September 20, 2021
This internationally in-demand DJ even made parallels between genial indie tyke Ricky Wilson and 20th century fascism:
If you ever wondered how Germany found itself full of hate in 1930s…

But lots of people had his corner:
The choice between Piers Corbyn & the Kaiser Chiefs seems pretty straightforward.
