Swedish indie-pop group Peter, Bjorn And John have watched in astonishment as a track from their forthcoming album was leaked by none other than US hip hop star Kanye West.
The Swedish trio are on the comeback trail. Since the massive success of 2006’s ‘Writer’s Block’ album, and the accompanying anthemic single ‘Young Folks’ the group have been extremely busy. Peter Moren released a wonderful solo album last year, which was swiftly followed by the largely instrumental album ‘Seaside Rock’.
Recorded by the full band, ‘Seaside Rock’ was a mixture of layer rock textures and spoken word samples. Upcoming album ‘Living Thing’ is expected to be the official follow up to ‘Writer’s Block’ and had been kept strictly under wraps.
Enter Kanye West: the hip hop star’s BLOG has a version of the track ‘Nothing To Worry About’ and also claims the album will be due on March 31st, in the United States at least.
Kanye West has known the Swedish indie group since performing live with them in 2007, and has also used ‘Young Folks’ on his mixtape ‘Alter Ego’.
