Pete Burns Critically Ill

Singer undergoes four hour operation

Former Dead or Alive singer Pete Burns has been rushed to hospital where he has under-went a four hour operation.

Emerging as a face in Liverpool post punk scene, Pete Burns always had massive ambition and a love of pop. His group Dead Or Alive came under the tutelage of hit factory Stock, Aitken And Waterman who turned Burns into a star.

His song ‘You Spin Me’ hit number one and Dead Or Alive became the most talked about group in the country. However, there could well be dark times ahead for the singer who is enduring serious health problems.

Despite his pain Burns still managed to blog to fans saying “I simply want it announced I collapsed on Wednesday and was rushed to hospital”.

The singer explains that experts were found and “they found eight stones in each kidney but were unable to remove them as they were blocking both the kidneys, the urethra and bladder.

“I’m in a very serious condition on 24-hour intravenous morphine for the pain. Intravenous fluid as I’m so dehydrated and the kidneys can’t retain the liquid. I also have diabetes insipidus which is puling water from my lung, liver, heart and brain.”

“I’m critically ill and under 24-hour observation and will be in hospital for quite a long time.”

Burns enjoyed a career revival after appearing in Celebrity Big Brother – his records were re-issued and he even released his autobiography.
