Reading’s finest band of swash buckling indie allstars Pete And The Pirates have announced that they will release two brand new songs after their new UK tour is over.
Pete And The Pirates have had an incredible year. Long cult favorites on the London indie scene, the band released debut album ‘Little Death’ in the depths of mid-Winter and charmed music fans with their addictive pop charms. Singles such as ‘Come On Feet’ and ‘Mr Understanding’ revealed hidden depths to the band, who have become one of the most energetic live groups around.
With ‘Little Death’ sure to feature in those dreaded End-Of-Year polls, the band have stunned fans by announcing they are set to release two new tracks. ‘Jennifer’ and ‘Blood Gets Thin’ were recorded in a small break from their live duties, and is typical of the band’s sound. Recorded with long time Cure collaborator Dave Allen, the songs will be available digitally on December 15th with a seven inch on January 12th.
As the band themselves say:
We’ve done hundreds of shows since the release in January of Little Death, travelled around Europe, and had a crazy Festival packed summer. All the while, we’ve been writing and playing new songs, so when we met David M Allen, we jumped at the offer to record a couple of these new tracks with him.
We were really eager to release some new material, and we thought it was high time we gave people something to keep them going until the new album, which after our current UK tour (and some time recovering from it) we will at last get down to recording!”
