Massively successful synth pop gurus Pet Shop Boys collected their Outstanding Contribution To Music award at the Brit ceremony last night (February 18th).
Formed by ex music journalist Neil Tennant, the group dominated the pop landscape in the 80s and 90s with a series a massive hits. Eventually selling over 15 million records around the world, the band are a well loved British musical institution.
The group were introduced by a lengthy dedication speech by The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers. Citing the group as a huge inspiration, Flowers later performed with the Pet Shop Boys on the classic hit ‘It’s A Sin’.
Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe then took turns on a massive screen to thank fans and explain what the award means to them.
Performing a medley of hits, the band were joined by Flowers and American electro nymphet Lady Gaga. Pet Shop Boys played the following songs:
