Dutch group Personal Trainer have signed to Bella Union.
The venerable UK independent label – founded by Cocteau Twins musician Simon Raymonde – has a habit of uncovering our new favourite bands, working with everyone from Fleet Foxes to Beach House in the process.
Stumbling across Personal Trainer, the label have swooped to sign. Part of the Dutch indie rock goldrush, the band’s fizzing debut album ‘Big Love Blanket’ was framed by pop flirtation, packed with impeccable guitar pop ear-worms.
Sealing the deal, Bella Union have now ushered out two bold new Personal Trainer songs into the waiting world. Nine-minute long track ‘The Feeling’ shows the full power of their interplay, while ‘Babyolifanjtes’ is off kilter, but a little more snappy.
‘The Feeling’ comes equipped with a video directed by Giacomo Speyart utilising documentary-style footage he shot on a trip to China – tune in below.
Catch Personal Trainer playing a number of Independent Venue Week shows in January alongside The Klittens and Real Farmer.
