KJ Sawka joins Australian band

Australian drum ‘n’ bass mentalists Pendulum have gained a new member, with KJ Sawka taking over on drums.

Pendulum are a phenomenon. In an era when drum ‘n’ bass sits under threat as never before, the Australian group’s powerful live show and pulsating studio work has bucked the trend to reach an international audience.

Leaving behind their Antipodean roots to sit closer to the home of bass, Pendulum currently live in London. Taking time off recently to work on new material the band are set to return with a new album, a new tour and a new member.

Drummer KJ Sawka has hopped on board, having previously worked with drum and bass act Siamese in addition to a solo career. The Seattle based musician is set to join the group for an upcoming UK tour, starting in May.

Opening on May 20th in Edinburgh, the tour winds it way around the UK taking in a number of massive venues. Set to play Wembley Arena on May 28th, the dates contain some of the largest shows Pendulum have played to date.

In addition to this, Pendulum are to blast through the festival circuit. The band have confirmed a performance at Scotland’s RockNess event, one of their first live shows at a British event in some time.

Famed for their pulsating live show, Pendulum have tended towards exclusive DJ sets in recent years. Due to hit the Highland event, the drum ‘n’ bass mentalists have confirmed slots at a raft of festivals across the UK.
