Paul Weller Talks New Material

Brit Award winner gets to work

British music icon Paul Weller has given a new interview in which he reveals he has been writing material destined for a follow up to recent album ’22 Dreams’.

Paul Weller’s long career in music began with The Jam. Taking R&B and injecting it with some punk passion, the band became household names with a series of number one hits.

Weller split the group at its height to form The Style Council with Mick Talbot. A varied affair, parts of The Style Council still figure in Weller’s solo sets and are well regarded by fans.

His long solo career reached a new height earlier this year when he won ‘Best British Male’ at the Brits. The singer was presented his award by Adele in a video broadcast at the ceremony – famously, the pair couldn’t stop giggling.

“We play at least half the album. On the last tour, we played ‘111’. It wasn’t like people were booing and walking out,” he told London Lite newspaper.

“We’ve got strings and a brass section, plus we’ve got some brand new tunes. There’s this great one called ‘Wake Up The Nation’.

“It won’t be coming out ’till next year, but I wish it was fucking coming out next week, man, ‘cos it’s right on the button.”
