The producers of hit talent show X Factor are looking to secure the services of British music legend Sir Paul McCartney.
Way back when, the music industry was dominated by a series of producers and songwriters. In the late 50s and early 60s the actual performers were the people who mattered least, given no say in their artistic movement.
However when The Beatles broke all chart records with their own material the Lennon & McCartney partnership split Tin Pan Alley into pieces. Soon it became the norm for bands to write their own songs, as authenticity became a watchword for music fans.
The music industry soon re-covered its hold on some acts, however, with X Factor laying bare the workings of the pop world for all to see. Owned by music mogul Simon Cowell it seems the show are planning a massive star to close the current series.
Due to climax on December 13th with a spectacular show, an X Factor insider told The Daily Mirror that Sir Paul McCartney could drop by to perform.
“The big plan by Simon Cowell is to get Sir Paul for the final, which would be just fantastic.”
“Everybody knows The Beatles wrote some of the best songs in history, so it would be a sensational end for the series.”
Sir Paul McCartney has been busy of late. The former Beatle teamed up with his former band mate Ringo Starr on two tracks from the drummer’s forthcoming solo album ‘Y Not’.
The first Beatles re-union in over a decade, McCartney is also set to release a live album later this year.
