Paul McCartney Marries Nancy Shevell

At London registry office

Sir Paul McCartney has married his partner Nancy Shevell at a registry office in London.

More than forty years after the collapse of The Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney retains a huge amount of public affection. Announcing his marriage to partner Nancy Shevell, the news caused ripples of delight amongst the singer’s fans.

Losing his wife Linda to cancer in 1998, Paul McCartney then became linked to Heather Mills. The pair married, but the relationship never quite settled with the pair separating in 2006.

A long time friend, Paul McCartney became romantically linked to Nancy Shevell last year. The pair kept the relationship out of the public eye, before finally announcing that they were to be married earlier this year.

A self-made businesswoman, Shevell had previously been close to both Paul and Linda McCartney. Rumours surrounded the couple this weekend, with the pair deciding to get married on Sunday (October 9th).

Making the short journey from McCartney’s home in St John’s Wood to the registry office, the pair were greeted by crowds held back behind security barriers. Waving to fans, the couple were then married in London’s Marylebone Register Office – the same venue where the singer married his first wife Linda Eastman.

Clearly delighted, Paul McCartney briefly spoke to waiting reporters. “Terrific, thank you. I feel married,” he said before adding, “I feel absolutely wonderful.”

Ringo Starr was spotted amongst the guests, with around 30 other people attending the ceremony. Returning to St Johns Wood for a small reception, the couple are reportedly planning a second ceremony in Nancy Shavell’s home of Long Island.

The ceremony took place on what would have been John Lennon’s 71st birthday. Congratulations to the happy couple!
