patten’s label Kaleidoscope has launched its new LIMITED DUBS series of short run cassette releases.
Matching abstract electronics with a real emotional punch, patten’s debut album ‘GLAQJO XAACSSO’ was impossible to pronounce and difficult to avoid.
Since its release last year, ClashMusic have been keeping tabs on the young London based producer. Sitting at the helm of new imprint Kaleidoscope, patten has inaugurated a new series of short run cassette tapes.
LIMITED DUBS launches with a release from Sculpture. ‘Slime Code’ is out tomorrow (February 14th) and is a typically forward facing mixture of distorted tape loops, brutal edits and percussive electronics.
From the press release: “The music was performed live to 8 track tape by Dan Hayhurst and Reuben Sutherland on 1st July 2011. 7 unique dubs to C20 compact cassette were executed by DH, and a digital edit was compiled from the C20s on August 6th 2011.”
“The 7 unique C20s and free unlimited digital manifestation will be available through Kaleidoscope from Valentine’s Day.”
