London producer patten is streaming the final instalment in his trilogy of remix EPs.
Releasing his debut album earlier this year, patten seemed to deft categorisation. A full list of influences would be impossible to quantify, with the producer seeming to exist as an intersection point for almost limitless genres.
A true cartographer of potential landscapes, patten’s debut album ‘GLAQJO XAACSSO’ has now spawned some equally inventive remixes.
The London producer opted against stripping his material down to stems, instead selecting snippets of music to send to a number of collaborators. In patten’s words: “Each remixer gets a bunch of chunks from a finished track. One track per remixer. No stems. No finished full track to compare against. So basically passing the fragments like bits of code divorced from the full program. See what gets retained, what comes through from these bits of sonic DNA.”
The third instalment of the trilogy is now here. Titled – in typically confusing fashion – ‘LOGQAJ ACSXSOA’ you can stream the EP below…

Looking ahead, patten has confirmed a one off live show in London’s CAMP Basement on January 19th. Featuring a mixture of live music and visuals, the headline show will no doubt echo his star turn on the Boiler Room recently.
