Celebrated London songwriter Patrick Wolf could be set to work with bizarre pop duo The Cheeky Twins.
Patrick Wolf will return later this year with his new album ‘The Bachelor’. The famously creative singer initially planned to release a double album titled ‘Battle’. However, after running into money problems the songwriter was forced to sell ‘shares’ in the album to fans via the website Bandstocks.
Even that wasn’t enough to get the double album out, which has now been split into two parts. This year fans can savour ‘The Bachelor’ while next year music lovers can gorge themselves on ‘The Conqueror’.
The new material features the voice of acclaimed actress Tilda Swinton, who agreed to act as narrator on the concept album after meeting Wolf. It seems that the singer has got a taste for collaboration, and could be set to work with an unusual duo.
Speaking to TheQuietus Wolf said “a friend of mine was a PA for Mama Cheeky once, so I think there’s connections there. I’m on the hunt for the The Cheeky Girls.”
The Cheeky Girls would apparently compliment a Transylvania themed section on his forthcoming album. The singer has become intrigued by Dracular mythology, which could result in new material.
He said: “Dracula and vampires were great to illustrate the idea of addiction, the idea that when you’re bitten by this thing you’re addicted to blood. I thought it was a metaphor for a great many things. So I was thinking of getting The Cheeky Girls in to do some spoken-word Transylvanian on it.”
Patrick Wolf is due to release ‘The Bachelor’ later this year.
