One of the most celebrated songwriters in British music, Patrick Wolf recently fell foul of the authorities in San Francisco.
Patrick Wolf is close to releasing his new album ‘The Bachelor’. The singer has endured a tortuous recording process, aiming to produce a double album titled ‘Battle’ but running out of funds with the record only partly finished.
Using the website Bandstocks Patrick Wolf sold ‘shares’ in his new album, allowing fans to buy a stake in a unique project. Resuming the recording process, the songwriter recruited Tilda Swinton to narrate sections of the album.
The singer is no stranger to collaboration, and recently planned to work with pop duo The Cheeky Girls.
Now split into two sections, the double album is set to set the light of day. The first chapter in the story is ‘The Bachelor’, which will be followed by ‘The Conqueror’ next year. Due for release over the summer, ‘The Bachelor’ is another blast of spectral genius from one of the most gifted songwriters in the country.

However Patrick Wolf recently fell foul of the police in San Francisco. In a new Twitter message the singer told fans how he was threatened by bouncers, before spitting in the face of a member of security.
Taking exception to this, Wolf was arrested by police before being released.
Patrick Wolf wrote:
“Was arrested by san fran police for spitting in a bouncer’s face in protection of myself. Was almost shot in the face by a policeman. WTF? was told by the policeman “take your shitty ass music out of this city and if you ever step off that tour bus you will be *****”
“Feeling very thelma and louise right now.. must sleep… not allowed off the bus or i will be shot by a policeman. this country is insane!!! btw. apparently my spit DEFINITELY contains hiv, swine flu and hepatitis that is why my spit is a deadly weapon according to police here!”
Patrick Wolf has had a busy live schedule of late. At a recent show in London the performer was joined by German maverick Alec Empire, once of incendiary dance-metal gurus Atari Teenage Riot.
Patrick Wolf is due to continue his tour with a show at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles tonight (June 10th).
