Patrick Wolf Album Details

Collaboration With Alec Empire

Patrick Wolf has announced details of his forthcoming double album, which will feature material recorded with German iconoclast Alec Empire.

The multi-instrumentalist has been busy recording material for a new album, and has travelled to Berlin to record with Alec Empire. Empire is famed for mixing abrasive punk and dance elements, and half of the album will be given over to this aggressive sound.

Named ‘Battle’, it will be contrasted by another side which would be lighter in tone. Wolf released debut album ‘Lycanthropy’ in 2003 which immediately established a cult following for the singer. His last album ‘The Magic Position’ was released last year to warm reviews.

During the tour supporting ‘The Magic Position’ Wolf fell victim to depression, according to a new interview. Wolf claims that this depression was the inspiration for his new material, giving rise to the aggressive new sound.

Patrick Wolf will release his new album in February next year.
