Hotly tipped American glitch-pop group Passion Pit have launched a new competition which allows fans to re-work their material.
Passion Pit are set to release their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘Manners’ soon. The culmination of lengthy recording sessions for the band, the album is could well become one of the defining releases of 2009. Click HERE for a lengthy look at the album!
The band were formed by Michael Angelakos, whose early demos were actually a gift to his girlfriend on Valentines Day. What’s wrong with flowers? He’s just making the rest of us look bad.
Encouraged by friends who also heard the demos, Passion Pit were formed. Becoming a cult sensation on the internet, the band eventually released their debut EP ‘Chunk Of Change’ last year.
Since then Angelakos’ glitch-pop vision has become a major talking point for music fans, with debut album ‘Manners’ having critics salivating. The first single from the album ‘The Reeling’ was released earlier this year, and will now be followed by a potential summer smash.
The group are set to release their new single ‘Little Secret’ soon, but before then fans will be able to not only hear the track but dismantle it completely. Launched in conjunction with new website MXP4, users can download stems for the song which can then be remixed to your heart’s delight.
Once finished, users can upload their remix to the site where it will be rated by fellow Passion Pit fans. The best remix will then be included on a special edition of the single, with five runners up receiving a signed edition of debut album ‘Manners’.
The Passion Pit remix competition is set to close on May 15th.
