London duo Paper Crows are giving away their atmospheric new cut ‘Gone’ – grab it now.
A female fronted duo, Paper Crows have been gradually attracting attention over the past 12 months with their Gothic tinged material. Heavy on the electronics, the duo at times recall Bjork or even Kate Bush, but sluiced through a very modern sensibility.
Currently hard at work on their debut album, Paper Crows gave away a Kate Bush cover just before Christmas. Now the London based duo are set to follow this by opening 2012 with another free download.
‘Gone’ seems to float on bass weight, a very London parallel to Scandinavian artists such as The Knife. Moody electronics, Paper Crows bear comparison with Zola Jesus – the two seem to share a love for the dramatic.
