Real name Kevin McAuley, Pangaea represents one third of the central Hessle Audio trio. A renowned producer, McAuley is perhaps over-shadowed behind the decks by compatriots Ben UFO and Pearson Sound. Yet this is perhaps unfair.
Pangaea has developed a unique style, one which compliments his production techniques while displaying a knowledge and awareness of dance culture second to none.
Taking charge of the latest instalment in the FabricLive series, Pangaea showcases his individual approach to crafting a set. Commenting on the mix, the producer said:
"Some people focus on production, others on DJing, but I've never seen the two as mutually exclusive and I've done both as long as I've been able to. One feeds the other because I make music with DJing in mind, and DJ from the perspective of standing in front of a stack of speakers. I'm always trying to find that spot between what physically and mentally stimulates me, and that's something that's never changed."
