Panda Bear Announces ‘Tomboy’ Details

Full length to drop on April 18th

Panda Bear has revealed that his full length album ‘Tomboy’ is due to drop on April 18th.

With Animal Collective earning ever higher examples of critical praise, the news that singer Panda Bear was working on a new solo album was widely reported. However instead of a straight forward release the songwriter has enjoyed toying with fans.

A series of seven inch singles were arranged, with the strictly limited edition singles available through Domino, Fat Cat and Panda Bear’s own Paw Tracks imprint.

The follow up to 2007’s ‘Person Pitch’ album, Panda Bear had left many of his trademark sounds intact. That yearning, keening voice stood at the fore as fans scrambled to pick up the tracks.

With the final single forthcoming on German label Kompakt, the singer has confirmed that his new album ‘Tomboy’ is finished. Set to be released on his own label, Panda Bear will release ‘Tomboy’ on April 18th.

A compilation of those previously released singles, ‘Tomboy’ will also contain new and remixed material. Produced by Panda Bear himself, the final album was mixed with help from one time Spacemen 3 member Sonic Boom.

Meanwhile, American radio station NPR have been allowed to broadcast a full preview of the album. Containing new and previously released material, ‘Tomboy’ is given the full works with the NPR presenters.
