Pale Blue Eyes Embrace Change With ‘Spaces’

“Change is good, healthy and things move on and evolve...”

Pale Blue Eyes return with new album ‘Spaces’.

The band’s debut album was a terrific dose of indie pop with Neu! overtones, matched to some sterling live shows. Since then, the trio have shifted location, setting down roots in amongst Sheffield’s myriad creative communities.

New album ‘This House’ is out on September 1st, and it finds the three-piece grappling with this shift. New song ‘Spaces’ is explicitly about embracing change, a cute indie pop jammer with a wistful lyrical touch.

Singer and guitarist Matthew Board says the song is about the “constant bittersweet nature of life, and about embracing and accepting change”.

For drummer Lucy Board, searching for control is natural, but something to be overcome. “Life will always throw stuff at you that you can’t control, so it’s pointless even trying,” she says.

Out now, ‘Spaces’ follows previous singles ‘More Hang Out‘ and ‘Takes Me Over‘, while the video was directed by long-time collaborator Dylan Friese-Green and band member Aubrey Simpson.

Tune in now.
