Pains Of Being Pure At Heart Return

New single, UK shows planned

Shoegaze group The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are planning a new single and a handful of British shows.

Brooklyn is the centre of the indie rock universe right now. A series of groups have emerged deeply indebted to the shoegaze sound, with bands taking inspiration from old Ride and Swervedrive albums.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart match a love for feedback driven chaos with an assured pop touch. Their debut album was a critical success, with the self-titled long player being swiftly followed by an EP.

The band are obviously bursting with new material, with The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart planning a new single. ‘Say No To Love’ will be a non-album release, coming out in June through Fortuna POP.

A summer hit in the making, ‘Say No To Love’ boasts buzz saw guitars and sighing harmonies. Singer Kip Berman explains that he feels the song is “a perfect summertime single full of fuzz and feelings.”

“The song is about rejecting hyper-serious adolescent romance that imprisons you and inhibits your ability to become the person you want to be and do the things you want to do. It’s about a girl telling an emo boy to go grow a pair.”

Backed with new track ‘Lost Saint’ the single is due to be released in June. Meanwhile, Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have confirmed a series of British shows throughout the summer.

Opening with a set at Latitude, the Brooklyn group will mix festival shows with a series of headline dates.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart are to play the following shows:

July
18 Latitude Festival
25 Indietracks Festival
28 Brighton Concorde
29 London Heaven
