In new poll...

Oxegen has been named Europe's best festival in a new poll from Havas Sports & Entertainment.

The festival season is more crowded than ever, with fans able to pick from multiple events each week. Throw in cheap flights to the continent and music lovers are able to jet out to increasingly diverse events.

So making a decision on which festival is best has never been harder. Havas Sports & Entertainment have stepped in, with a complex numerical system designed to rate each festival on different grounds.

The exhaustive study analyses 64 different European events, rating them on criteria including line-up, value and organisation.

Oxegen took the number one slot, beating off competition from some massive events. Glastonbury was shunted down into second place, with the Irish event scoring heavily with its exclusive packed line up.

Returning for another instalment this summer, Oxegen boasts performances from Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and more.

Gaining an A+ ranking from the study, Oxegen were understandably delighted to claim the awards for both 'Best Line Up' and 'Best Festival'.

John Probyn, Oxegen’s Festival Director said:

"It’s great to receive this recognition. This year Oxegen has got most of the artists headlining the UK’s major festivals on one bill. We have definitely pulled out all the stops to deliver our best ever line-up. A tremendous amount of work also goes on behind the scenes to ensure that every aspect of the festival meets the very highest standard. Oxegen has a really strong bond with its fanbase and the feedback we receive from them allows us to improve the festival experience year on year."

Tickets are on sale now.

Oxegen runs between July 8th - 10th.
