Overmono return with new cut ‘Calling Out’.
The track appears on the duo’s incoming album ‘Good Lies’, which is out on May 12th. ‘Calling Out’ rides on a warped UK garage beat, with Overmono breaking down club tropes before re-assembling them in a deft, imaginative way.
Refusing to be hemmed in by club heritage, ‘Calling Out’ emerges as a future-facing document, with Overmono embracing vocal cuts from slowthai and CASisDEAD during their studio processes.
An all-out anthem, ‘Calling Out’ taps into the feral euphoria that drove Overmono’s seismic festival sets last year. The production pairing comment…
We’ve had these chords written for quite a while now and could never find quite the right context for them. One night we were procrastinating in the studio, mostly just drinking and slamming some CASisDEAD and slowthai tracks.
We’d been listening to them a lot as they have an incredible way of consistently delivering unexpected music and we find that approach really inspiring. Then we had a bit of a eureka moment and realised it might have been the type of sound we were looking to go with alongside that chord progression so we stayed up all night and finally got it done.
Tune in now.
