Overmono Drop Edit of The Streets’ ‘Turn The Page’

A technofied banger...

A year after the release of their acclaimed debut album ‘Good Lies‘, electronic brother duo Overmono return with their highly-favoured version of The Streets‘ epochal hit, ‘Turn The Page’.

Tom and Ed Russell first performed their version of the ‘Original Pirate Material’ opening track at the 2022 edition of Lost Village Festival, later road-testing the edit at Coachella, in their viral Boiler Room set and more recent sold-out headline show at London’s The Roundhouse. It’s since grown into a word-of-mouth phenomenon with fans and critics clamouring for an official release.

Earlier this week, the single premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record of the Week with Jack Saunders, and has now been released worldwide via XL Recordings’ iconic housebag series, alongside a 12” black vinyl with a special etched b-side.

Overmono’s faithful edit retains Mike Skinner’s homegrown wordplay and UKG bounce, but is made more noirish and unrelenting through a clearly delineated bassline and ecstatic tempo shifts. Listen below.
