60s starlet and former Serge Gainsbourg collaborator Jane Birkin has announced her first UK concert in 5 years.
Birkin will sing a range of material drawn from such writers as Tom Waits, Neil Hannon, Beth Gibbons and of course the filthy Frenchman himself, Serge Gainsbourg.
A renowned singer and actress, Birkin is perhaps best known as the female voice on the infamous Gainsbourg single “Je T’Aime… Moi Non Plus”. Although the night will be dominated by Gainsbourg, who wrote many of Birkin’s most famous songs, the singer has had a long career of her own – last year directing “Boxes”.
Sadly, Serge Gainsbourg will not be present – he died in 1991.
Jane Birkin will play The Roundhouse, London on March 1st.
