Ou Est Le Swimming Pool singer Charlie Haddon took his own life, an inquest has recorded.

Preparing to release their debut album, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool gave off all the signs of a band with the world at their feet. However in a tragic incident last year, singer Charlie Haddon took his own life.

Discovered backstage at Pukkelpop festival in Belgium, the incident profoundly shocked fans. The two remaining members of Ou Est Le Swimming Pool withdrew from the public, stunned by the loss of their friend.

After careful consultation with Charlie Haddon’s family, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool completed work on their debut album and gave it a full release.

Now the full inquest into Charlie Haddon’s death has concluded that the singer committed suicide. A requirement after a death of this nature, coroner Anne Pember recorded that the frontman took his own life.

Performing at Pukkelpop last year, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool gave a typically lively performance. Charlie Haddon threw himself into the crowd, and accidentally collided with a young female fan.

The fan was left injured, and was carried on a stretcher from the arena. According to the Metro, Charlie Haddon was left “deeply upset” by the incident and retreated to the backstage area.

Ou Est Le Swimming Pool manager Sam Farr described how the fan’s father threatened legal action after claiming that his daughter was suffering from three damaged vertebrae after the incident.

Charlie Haddon spoke to the fan’s father, and then began drinking heavily backstage. Hanging himself in the car park, the incident was a tragic end to the singer’s blossoming career.
