Oslo’s tigerstate Exude Disco Charm With ‘Occupied’

“This is a song about dancing, love and jealousy...”

Oslo space cadets tigerstate have shared their new belter ‘Occupied’.

The indie collective are one of the most exciting bands to come out of Norway in recent times, a rollercoaster of guitar pop thrills exuding melody at every turn.

The band’s self-titled debut album is out on November 4th, and it’s driven by their precocious live energy and tigerstate’s stellar alt-pop ambitions.

New single ‘Occupied’ is a fine introduction, all disco thrills and helter skelter vibes. Dipping into 70s chic while remaining thoroughly modern, tigerstate set both eyes on the dancefloor for the synth-driven escapade.

“This is a song about dancing, love and jealousy,” the band comment. “We embraced the cheesiness and disco. It has a creamy and groovy synth sequence with an infectious cherry melody on top.”

Herman Friis directs the video, with the ‘Occupied’ clip taking you on a sweaty night out in Oslo.

”It’s about letting yourself loose and not worrying about the outcome or consequences,” say the band. “We wanted to film this on 16 mm film to give it an extra touch of nostalgia and feelgood factor. We love disco from the 70s and 80s and this is definitely inspired by that.”

Tune in now.
