Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘bad idea right?’ Is A Grunge-Pop Stormer

Her new album takes a step closer...

Olivia Rodrigo returns with new single ‘bad idea right?’ – tune in now.

The teen star’s debut album ‘SOUR’ was an astonishing success on its 2021 release, spawning the record-breaking single ‘drivers license’. A true icon, she completed a radiant international tour before heading back into the studio.

New album ‘GUTS’ is incoming, and lead single ‘vampire’ leaned on her more melancholic side, showcasing a vivid vocal. ‘bad idea right?’ switches it up, however – stomping down on the fuzz box, it’s a grunge-indebted stormer.

Reminiscent of Hole in places, or even our very own Wolf Alice, it matches those stellar guitar lines to Olivia Rodrigo’s natural pop suss. A delicious piece of alt-leaning song wring, ‘bad idea right?’ amplifies the hype around her new album once more.

The video went live at Midnight – it’s already smashed through the million play barrier. Tap in below.
