American rapper OG Maco has died.
News of the rapper’s passing was confirmed a few moments ago in an official statement by his family. OG Maco was taken to hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head two weeks ago, spending time in a coma. In spite of medical treatment, his position took a turn for the worse, passing away on December 26th.
A key figure in the modern evolution of Southern rap, OG Maco came of age during the SoundCoud era, translating viral success to chart impact with singles such as ‘U Guessed It’.
A Georgia native, he was a formative influence on Migos, while sketching out his own sound.
In a statement, OG Maco’s family celebrated a life lived to the full –
