The vinyl resurgence is continuing to break sales records.
The Official Chart Company – who look after such facts and figures – have revealed that first quarter sales in 2015 for vinyl albums were up some 69%.
As a result, the Official Chart Company have introduced separate vinyl charts. The winner of the first ever official vinyl album countdown is All Time Low with their new album 'Future Hearts'.
The best selling vinyl LP of the year so far goes to Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, with new album 'Chasing Yesterday' fighting off competition from Led Zeppelin, Royal Blood and Arctic Monkeys.
This week's vinyl single chart was conquered by a tribute to Frankie Knuckles. The late house producer was honoured by a new version of 'Baby Wants To Ride' – released as Underworld Vs Heller & Farley, with all profits being donated to the Frankie Knuckles Trust and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
