Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has revealed in a new interview that he has already written and demo’d the band’s next album, and has begun planning his long mooted solo effort.
In an interview with Stateside music magazine Billboard Noel Gallagher described the new songs he has been writing. With songs titles including ‘I Want To Live In A Dream In My Record Machine’ and ‘Come On It’s Alright’ it seems that the eighth Oasis album is already underway.
Two songs are apparently “psychedelic epics” while other material is said to be reminiscent of The Kinks. “They all seem to be based around the same four or five chords,” he expalined.
“There’s stuff about soldiers and religious people and rock stars and travellers. They seem to be all songs about people, but not people I know. And they all seem to have a narrative; it’s kind of like a story which follows on from song to song.”
Noel also hinted at his long rumored solo record, saying that he is too busy to focus on the album. “I’m kind of hoping Liam might be arrested soon, and then I’ll have time to see it through.”
