Oasis Tour Bombshell

Band Drop 'Live Forever'

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has dropped a bombshell ahead of the band’s upcoming tour – they won’t be playing early anthem and fan favorite ‘Live Forever’.

Oasis are set to begin their latest tour in Liverpool tonight, but one thing will be missing – ‘Live Forever’. An early anthem of the band’s, it has accompanied them throughout their career and was a standout moment at the group’s massive Knebworth gig.

In an interview with the BBC Noel Gallagher explained that he understood there would be a massive backlash, but he felt it was necessary because “if we were to play every song the fans demanded we’d be like Bruce Springsteen playing over three and a half hours.”

Apparently the decision to axe the song went un-noticed by other members of the band, apart from new boy drummer Chris Sharrock. Noel commented that He said, ‘Are we not going to do ‘Live Forever’?’. I was like, ‘Do you know what? I hadn’t even noticed’. I was like, ‘Shall we do ‘Live Forever’?’ and everyone was like ‘I don’t know. Do you miss it? I don’t miss it’.

“One thing that annoys me about the live version of that is Liam refuses to sing the falsetto so it’s quite ludicrous that we’ve got away with that for 10 years. Anyway all the fans can go and play it afterwards.”
