Oasis are preparing to play a special gig on Sunday (October 26th) as part of the Electric Proms, and will play a unique cover version of The Rolling Stones classic ‘We Love You’.
The band are currently finishing a UK tour and have recently played a two night stint at Wembley Stadium – their first appearance on the hallowed turf since the stadium was refurbished.
Oasis will play a set at London’s Roundhouse venue, one of their smallest British shows in years. The band plan to cover The Rolling Stones classic ‘We Love You’ alongside a 50 pice choir. In a new interview Noel Gallagher reveals that the Croud End Festival Chorus choir had been scheduled to appear on ‘Dig Out Your Soul’.
“Out of the all the songs on the album, there’s two that didn’t make it that have got a 50 piece choir,” he told BBC 6Music.
“The original idea for this album was to record it with this choir in Abbey Road and for whatever reason, their availability and that, it didn’t happen.”
‘We Love You’ was the first single released by the Stones after their incarceration on drugs charges in 1967. Opening with footsteps and the sound of jangling keys, it was meant to be a tribute to their fans who supported them during their trial and subsequent incarceration.
