Noel Gallagher has revealed in a new documentary that once of the instruments used on new album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ was a toy sitar that cost only £12.50.
Oasis are set to release their long awaited seventh album, their first record in a decade to be made in the famous Abbey Road studios.
Now streaming on Myspace, ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ is a fantastic album that showcases the band as a creative force. In a new documentary, Noel Gallagher explains that a sitar used on the album was in fact bought from a toy shop for £12.50.
“You know it’s not a real one? It’s a toy electric one, a plastic one. They’re shaped like a sitar, and they’ve got a speaker on the front. You switch it on and you pick the key, and you leave it there!”
Before adding that “it looked hilarious. In this really famous room is this little tiny plastic sitar with this massive mic that’s worth about £50,000. And the sitar’s worth about £12.50…”
