Oasis Crack US Charts

New Album Is Huge Success

Oasis seem to have finally cracked the US charts, with new album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ soaring in at number five in this week’s Billboard album charts.

The mouthy Mancs have traditionally failed to breach the upper echelons of the chart, being seen as much too ‘British’ to succeed in America. However, new album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ has zoomed in at number five, the band’s best chart position since the much hyped ‘Be Here Now’ album in 1997.

The added media attention surrounding the band after their onstage attack in Toronto has undoubtedly helped, but it seems a more anglo-friendly attitude is emerging amongst US audiences after the success of Coldplay.

The new album faired even better on the Billboard Digital Sales chart, with ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ debuting at number two with over 20,000 downloads sold.

Due to the attack, the band were forced to cancel all tour dates in the US – when these are completed it is thought the album will soar even higher.
