Oasis are set to re-issue their 1997 album ‘Be Here Now’.
The release was a genuine blockbuster moment, with fans queuing around the block to grab their copy. Shattering all records in its path, the initial ecstasy soon wore off, with ‘Be Here Now’ coming to be regarded as the final nail in Britpop’s coffin.
As time has gone on, however, the album has been viewed in a kinder light – sure, it’s weighed down by cocaine-aided largesse, but there’s also some fantastic moments on there, in amongst the endless guitar overdubs.
‘Be Here Now’ will be re-issued on silver-coloured double heavyweight LP on August 19th, just a few days ahead of its 25th birthday. Big Brother Recordings have also included a double picture disc and cassette, which are available to pre-order here.
In the run up to the release, a number of new and rare Oasis multimedia goodies will be shared on their site – keep an eye out online.
