Oasis Attacker In Court

Canadian Charged With Assault

The man accused of assaulting Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher onstage is set to appear in court in Canada last today (October 24th).

The man, named as 47-year old Daniel Sullivan, has been charged with assault after pushing Gallagher from behind at the Virgin Festival in Toronto last month. The attack left the guitarist with severe bruising on his ribs, and forced Oasis to cancel the remaining dates on their North American tour.

Gallagher revealed in an interview afterwards that he was relieved to have only been pushed – he initially feared that he had been stabbed. Despite still not fully recovered, the guitarist has ignored doctor’s orders to fulfill Oasis’ UK tour obligations.

This isn’t the first time Oasis have been the victims of an onstage barney – a scuffle in a Newcastle venue left the band swearing blind they wouldn’t play the city again.

Oasis’ next show is at the London Roundhouse venue on October 26th as part of the BBC Electric Proms series. Tickets have sold out.
