Mancunian indie rock juggernauts Oasis have released details of their forthcoming studio album “Dig out Your Soul”, due to be released on October 6th.
Released on the band’s own Big Brother Recordings, the album is the follow up to 2005’s “Don’t Believe The Truth”. The record will be preceded by new single “The Shock Of The Lightning”, due out on September 29th.
Clash has received a very special preview of the album, and can confirm that it is well worth the three year wait. A snarling beast of a record, “Dig out Your Soul” is among the band’s strongest works.
The album has been kept under lock and key, although a demo version of the track “Ain’t Got Nothin'” leaked earlier this year. “Dig Out Your Soul” was recorded by Dave Sardy at Abbey Road, and mixed in Los Angeles. It is the most band-centred effort yet from Oasis, with writing credits shared between the Gallaghers, Gem and Andy Bell.
