Police have confirmed that 24 people have now died as the result of the fire which swept through an Oakland warehouse party.
Musicians from the 100% Silk roster were performing at the venue on Friday night (December 2nd) when the fire took hold.
Initial reports referred to the event as a ‘rave’ but it’s thought that no more than 100 people were in attendance, for an event at a shared creative space that sits close to the centre of Oakland’s musical community.
Rescue workers are searching through the debris, with police confirming that 24 people have died.
100% Silk shared a statement with vital information for those effected.
A crowdfunding appeal has been set up by Gray Area, aiming to help those effected by the fire. Donates have surged through the $100,000 barrier and are increasing rapidly – get involved HERE.
Our thoughts are with all those effected by this event.
