Paul Oakenfold, one of the true greats of modern dance music, is set to release a new 3-CD compilation of his favourite cuts on August 18th.
A pioneering DJ, Oakenfold is interviewed in the current issue of Clash as part of our in depth analysis of Acid House. He DJ’d at the Stone Roses’ Spike Island gig, produced the Happy Mondays epochal LP “Pills ‘n’ Thrills And Bellyaches” and has played at clubs across the globe. However to even things up, he was also responsible for Goa Trance.
The new mix gathers some of his all-time favourites including Underworld, Leftfield, Faithless and his own signature remix of U2’s “Beautiful Day”.
“Oakenfold Anthems” is released on August 18th.
