Now It’s Father John Misty vs. Music Bloggers

We just can't catch a break...

Father John Misty has posted a tongue in cheek statement taking aim at music bloggers.

Who'd be a blogger, eh? Advertising rates have plummeted, career opportunities are limited, and now Father John Misty himself has this coterie of writers, thinkers, and dreamers in his sights.

Releasing a (since-deleted) statement on Facebook, the songwriter decries "a certain online faction" that has seen "fit to interpret and present it via its own ideological prejudices."

He adds: "Music blogging is and always has been entirely unacceptable in a civic society—as is anyone who claims to be a music blogger or associates with music blogging. Music blogging’s very foundation is inequality—pathologically bent on sustaining the supremacy of one class of music over another based solely on its immutable traits. It is unwelcome here."

Oh, Josh… what have we done to deserve this? The constant praise, the endless digital inches?

Or… perhaps this is just a wry slight following Taylor Swift's legal takedown of an American blog post?
