November Ultra Shares New Beaut ‘Novembre’

"December never came..."

Rising force November Ultra has shared new song ‘Novembre’.

The songwriter has enjoyed a stellar year, packed with highlights. Selling out a headline show at historic London venue St Pancras Old Church, she dropped in a few unheard pearls, including this brand new single.

‘Novembre’ comes as the year starts to close, and the temperatures begin to drop. There’s a frosted feel to her work, as November Ultra croons: “November’s all year long now / December never came…”

A song about the chills that get deep inside, it owes a debt to a Swedish writing camp. She comments:

“’Novembre’ is about a longing, a longing for family, for warmth, for a place where you belong – it’s a longing for home…”

“It was written during a She Is The Music writing camp with Swedish songwriter, producer and musician Kerstin Ljungström. It was one of those very special moments where the song just *happened*, I remember being very tired, having my guard down for being in the studio with two amazing female musicians that go through the same things as me and it was one of those moments where your heart and brain are suddenly connected to the music, your guard is down and the song becomes therapy, most of the song was made by improvising over the guitar and the first line that came was “I miss Christmas at your house, making fuzzy angels in the snow…'”

‘Novembre’ was therapy, a way for me to understand and verbalise what I was feeling and going through, the fuite en avant that is this amazing magical life I lead but also the saudade and longing I feel for home. It’s about spending so much time on the road, having a life contained in suitcases, a house contained in boxes, it was the question: now that I tour and bring my bedroom everywhere with me, then where is, what is, or who is home?

A beautiful song with a questing spirit, ‘Novembre’ illustrates her growing maturity – tune in now.
